Reflect 11 : How to question

                                                          How to question         
             In the perfect classroom management, questioning is considered as the effective approach to capture students' attention and stimulate students to express their needs and ideas.Moreover, to question can help teachers assess students' learning in the class.A teacher asks the class a question, several students raise their hands, the teacher selects one of those with a hand raised, the student gives a response, the teacher evaluates the student's response, and the cycle begins again. Education researchers call it the standard classroom transaction model  ( Dylan Wiliam ) .   Now I will talk to the different three level of questioning , which each level can reflect to the ability of the answer - er . They are  Yes - No question ,   Wh - question  and  Why, How question.

            For young students, teacher actually asks easy question to the students in order to evaluate whether they understand or not in what teacher has taught. It is Yes - No question. They said that Yes - No question is  categorized as the basic level question because the answering person just only says yes or no. He or she doesn't express their  own idea which will represent to their thinking ability. However, teacher should not ask yes- no question too frequently because it doesn't not help students practice both speaking and thinking.

           The higher one are Wh - question which help students practice to express their ideas ,but it is regarded as the median level of question. They just only inform some  specific details that teacher asking for. For example, where are your suitcase , who is your best friend in the class ,or which  do you want to eat. Wh words , such as what , where , when and which , are the word for median questioning level.

           The highest level of questioning is Why and How question which encourage students to think and express their own ideas. In this case of questing,  we want students to develop their thinking system and try to transfer their opinions to the others. In the real classroom, teachers should have to encourage students learning by taking into practice this kind of questioning in doing classroom activities.

         however, what every teacher should do in the class is to enhance students learning as well as possible by finding new technique in teaching and improve it all the time.
